Road vehicle-kilometers for Mexico include federal roads only.
U.S. and Canadian data include all roads (both federal and local).
Road fatalities: Data for 1997 are not available because in 1996 some modifications were made to the questionnaire used to capture this data, as a result, data collected had some characteristics that do not allow its use as a reliable statistics. Subsequently, the questionnaire incorporated several changes to improve data quality.
Revised numbers are revised from original source. 1 kilometer = approximately 0.621371 miles. Road vehicle-kilometers and Road motor vehicles data for 2007-09 are not comparable to previous years due to a change in the methodology.
