Starting with reference year 2008, the ports of Fraser River, North Arm Fraser and Vancouver were amalgamated to form what is referred to as Metro Vancouver.

Prince Rupert commenced operations of its container handling on October 31, 2007

Key: TEUs = twenty-foot equivalent units. One 20-foot container equals one TEU, and one 40-foot container equals two TEUs.

Note: The statistics include both government and non-government shipments by vessel into and out of U.S. foreign trade zones, the 50 states, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The statistics exclude postal and military shipments.
